Chaska City Council Advances Key Infrastructure Projects

The Chaska City Council is making significant strides in enhancing the city’s infrastructure through the approval and advancement of key projects.

Municipal Services Building

In March, the Council approved contracts for the construction of a new Municipal Services Building. This facility will consolidate the Public Works, Water and Sewer, and Electric Departments under one roof. Construction is slated to begin in spring 2026, with substantial completion anticipated by fall 2027. The project is part of the city’s comprehensive Public Building Improvement Program, aiming to modernize and streamline municipal operations.

Downtown Reconstruction Project

Additionally, the Council has accepted a feasibility study for the 2026 downtown reconstruction project. This initiative focuses on revitalizing Elm Street and sections of Third and Hickory Streets. The project aims to address infrastructure needs while enhancing the downtown area’s aesthetic appeal and functionality. The feasibility study outlines various options, including street and utility rebuilds, with cost estimates ranging from $2,045,000 to $2,733,000, depending on the selected scope of work.

These projects reflect the Council’s commitment to improving Chaska’s infrastructure and supporting the community’s growth and development.
